Job SWMS (Safe Work Method Statement)

Create, publish and track Safe Work Method Statements for every job, from ready-made trade templates or your own PDF.

Every job needs a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) in place before work starts, and keeping track of who has read and acknowledged each one can be a headache. JACK lets you create a SWMS from over 50 trade-specific templates or upload your own, publish it to your team, and see exactly who has acknowledged it and when.

Overview

Navigate to Jobs > select the relevant Job > Safety > Job SWMS. Click + Create SWMS to create a new SWMS, or use the pop-up to create from a template (over 50 built-in) or upload an existing PDF.

ℹ️ A PDF is a static document; you will need to download it and fill it in manually.

Create SWMS from a Template

ℹ️ See Set Up Safety in Your Job Template to set up SWMS within your Job Template.

Choose from over 50 trade-specific SWMS templates from the pop-up, ready to use and easy to customise for your job.

Click Add next to a template to create a new SWMS draft from it. Below is a small selection of the SWMS; you can scroll down to select more here.

Once you create your SWMS, you can review and edit the details and any pre-filled information. Click Save & Publish SWMS to publish it and make it available for the site induction process. Once published, the SWMS status changes to Active.

Upload a Pre-existing PDF

Name the SWMS and link the appropriate Trade to the document. Once you have uploaded your document, you can save it as a Draft or Publish it, making it ready for your trades to acknowledge via the QR code on your Site Signage.

You will then click on Save Draft or Save and Publish SWMS.

⚠️ Once you upload a PDF, it becomes a static document and must be downloaded to be used. It is no longer an electronic form in JACK.

Acknowledged SWMS

After scanning the QR code on your Site Signage, the team will be prompted to acknowledge all job-specific SWMS as part of their induction. To see who has acknowledged each SWMS, along with the date and time, navigate to Safety > Acknowledged SWMS.

Dashboard View

You can keep track of everything you have published by navigating to Jobs > select your Job > Safety > Dashboard, where you will see all safety items in one place.

You can also view this globally in Safety in the left-hand menu, and you will see all jobs in JACK.
