Connect to an AI Assistant - Claude

Connect JACK to an AI assistant to ask for job, schedule and financial information in plain language.

Overview

Connect your AI Assistant to JACK, write a clear prompt and Claude will use our built in tools to answer it. Whether you are checking your daily run sheet, summarising a job or drafting a report. You get the answer without researching it in JACK yourself, which gives you back time to spend growing your business.

ℹ️ In JACK the connection appears as AI MCP Integrations. It gives an assistant read access to your account, bounded by your own role, so it only reaches what you already reach when you log in, and nothing connects until you approve it.

Connect to Claude

To connect JACK to Claude, navigate to Settings > API Integrations and click The Add JACK to your assistant window will open and display your JACK address, which looks like https://yourcompany.jackapp.io/mcp. Select the copy icon beside the address to copy it. If you cannot see the API Integrations page at all, ask an Admin in your business to enable AI access on your Access Permissions.

🚨Ensure you have approved the user permissions for the API to allow "Read API Connections".

Now, open your assistant and navigate to Settings > Connectors, then select Add followed by Custom Connector. Paste your JACK address when prompted, name the connector after the account so you can recognise it later, and save to finalise.

Select Connect and you will be redirected to JACK to approve access, logging in if you are prompted. The approval screen will show what the assistant can do, bounded by your role. Confirm that you understand and approve access to finalise.

Once access is approved, you will be returned to your assistant, where the connector takes a moment to finish loading. Wait for it to complete rather than selecting Connect again. To check the connection is working, ask your assistant what JACK tools it has available and it will list the tools your permissions allow.

ℹ️ Any tool your role cannot use is not listed at all, so the list you see reflects your own access in JACK.

Tool permissions

Your assistant will check with you before it uses a JACK tool. Select Allow once to approve that single request, which keeps you in control of every lookup. To stop the prompt appearing for a tool you use often, open the connector in Settings > Connectors and set that tool to Always allow. This speeds up everyday use and does not widen what the assistant can reach.

Connect to multiple JACK accounts

Navigate to Settings > Connectors in your assistant to add a connector for each JACK account you need to reach, naming each one clearly so you know which account an answer came from. Connecting requires you to be logged in to that account, so you will be prompted to log in if you are not. Where your business runs more than one instance of JACK, each instance needs its own connector.

ℹ️ On a shared or business assistant account, only the account admin can add the connector. Once it is added, everyone in that account connects to it with their own JACK login.

Disconnect Claude

Navigate to Settings > Connectors in your assistant and select the JACK connector to remove it. Removing the connector stops the assistant reaching your JACK account immediately, and you can reconnect at any time using the same JACK address.

⚠️ Your JACK address gives an assistant read access to your account. Treat it like a password and do not share it outside your business.

For more information on what each role can reach in JACK, see User Access Permissions.
