Connect JACK to ChatGPT, ChatGPT can use JACK's tools to securely work with the business information you already have permission to access.

Instead of opening jobs one by one, gathering information and preparing a report manually, you can simply ask ChatGPT what you need. ChatGPT can decide which JACK tools it needs, retrieve the relevant information and turn it into a useful answer for you.

You can then take this further with Skills, Projects and reusable prompts so ChatGPT also understands how you want the work done.

A tool is one specific thing ChatGPT can ask JACK to do. Examples may include listing jobs, retrieving information about a job, reading a client's details, reviewing Variations, retrieving financial information for a job, or finding outstanding items.

Each tool has a particular purpose. You normally do not need to know which tool to use. Instead, ask ChatGPT what you want in normal language: "What is overdue across my active jobs?" ChatGPT can work out which available JACK tools are required to answer the question.

A Skill is a reusable set of instructions that teaches ChatGPT how to perform a particular type of task consistently.

The JACK tools provide the information. The Skill provides the method. For example, a Weekly Site Report Skill might instruct ChatGPT to review the relevant JACK job, check current status, identify overdue items, review open Variations, identify financial issues requiring attention, highlight changes, use your preferred report format and finish with actions for the coming week.

A Project is a workspace in ChatGPT for ongoing work. Projects can keep related chats, files and instructions together so you do not have to start from scratch each time.

For example, you might create a ChatGPT Project called "JACK - Business Management".

Inside a Project you can keep management reporting preferences, company terminology, example reports, standard operating procedures, quote comparison rules, management meeting notes, reference documents and instructions about how you want information presented.

You can then start different conversations inside that Project while retaining the relevant project context.

A prompt is the instruction or question you give ChatGPT. It can be simple: "What's overdue?" But clearer prompts generally produce more useful results.

A stronger prompt might be: "Review my active JACK jobs and identify anything overdue. Group the results by job, tell me what requires attention and finish with the five highest-priority actions."

With MCP connectors to your chosen AI, you do not need to understand the technical details to use the connection day-to-day. In most cases, you simply ask ChatGPT what you want.
