How To Connect To Xero

Connect JACK with Xero to enable seamless two-way sync for bills, invoices, payroll, and more.

Updated this week

Overview

Once you have completed your initial account setup in JACK, navigate to Settings > Accounting and Payments > Accounting Integration and click .

This will open a new screen in Xero where you will be asked to log in using your credentials. Xero will ask you to select the organisation you wish to connect to your JACK account. Select the relevant organisation and click Allow access to finalise.

Once the link is created, you will be redirected back to your JACK account, where you must Configure Account Mappings using the Sales and Bills dropdown. Account Mapping will tell JACK which account codes in Xero will be used to allocate supplier/subcontractor bills and customer invoices when they are approved for payment (Bills) or scheduled and sent (Client Invoices).

By default, invoices are coded to a Sales account (typically starting with 200 in Xero’s Revenue accounts), and bills are coded to a Direct Costs account (typically starting with 300). You can review or update these accounts in Xero by navigating to Accounting > Chart of Accounts in the top menu.

To create a new account in JACK, click the Sales, Bills or Payments dropdown and select. Proceed to enter the account code, name and click Save. The new account will be added to Xero.

⚠️All accounting integrations apply globally in JACK; client invoices sync to your selected sales account and bills to your selected bills account.
