Linking an allowance to a variation allows you to track the remaining for the client's view, should the value exceed the allowance amount.

To link an allowance to a variation, navigate to Variations > click  to add a new variation or select the relevant Variation. Scroll to the Allowance Allocation section and use the drop-down in the Add Allowance field. All available allowances will appear, allowing you to select the allowance(s) you want to link to the variation.

💡If the variation exceeds the allowance, it will update your job budget.

You have the option to credit any remaining allowance back to the client. To do this, click Credit Remaining in the allowance allocation section. This will create a negative variation in the job budget. When issuing the invoice, select the negative variation to automatically offset other charges.
