Overview
The Client Portal gives each of your clients a secure window into their own job in JACK. Once you enable access, your client can view documents, respond to variations, make selections, track tasks, and follow their job's progress and financials, all without contacting you directly. You control exactly what each client sees at a business-wide level, so you can tailor the portal to suit your workflow.
Enabling and Revoking Client Portal Access
To invite a client to the Client Portal, navigate to Contacts > Clients and select the relevant client. Ensure the client has an email address on file, then click on Send Portal Access Invite. JACK emails the client an invitation to set up portal access.
Portal access can be enabled or revoked at any time from the same screen, so you're not locked into a decision made at the point of adding the client.
đĄ Tip: A client needs a valid email address before you can enable their portal access.
Managing What Clients Can See
You control what appears in the Client Portal at a business-wide level. Navigate to Settings > Client Portal to adjust the following:
Set Client Schedule Detail to choose whether clients can see individual schedule items, only the phases within a job or no schedule at all.
Use Client Job Schedule Limit to set the number of days ahead a client can see when viewing a job's schedule.
Configure Client Visibility of Invoice Status to set whether clients can see if an invoice is overdue or if payments have been received.
Set Client Invoice Builder's Markup to control whether clients see the markup total at the bottom of their invoices, or whether markup is included in the amount shown against each line item instead.
Enable or disable the Job Progress Bar so clients can see a step for each job status, showing what's been completed and what's remaining.
Set Allowances to control whether clients can see allowances in their portal.
Documents, variations, and selections don't appear on this screen. Clients gain visibility over these automatically once they're released.
âšď¸ To customise the stages shown on the Job Progress Bar, navigate to Settings > Data Setup > Job Status.
â ď¸ Remember to select Save Changes before leaving the page.
